    Hi all

Our customer would like the bullnose frame to their GRP sign blank in metallic gold.
Can anyone who has done something similar in the past offer me any advice on the best materials/products for the job. Not something i have come across before.

    Thanks

    Kate

I would key the surface really well with a fine wet and dry paper, then use etch primer before painting as normal.
Have signs done 10 years and more and no problems.

Metallic gold is probably gonna mean a car finish paint which can only be sprayed Kate. Unless it’s small enough to use spray cans?

I bought some metallic paint called brush n leaf it comes in interior and exterior paint types. Also different shades of gold "old gold, brass gold, antique gold and gold leaf also silver. Only seen it in small bottles though, but not expensive.

You may be better to go to your local Car Repair Shop…they have all the materials. Will need to use an Etch Primer and then probably use a clear over base to achieve a metallic effect. By the time you buy all the sundries may be cheaper and the finish will be like glass……
