Good polycarb is nearly as optically clear as acrylic (99.9%) but the cheaper ones suffer from U.V. yellowing.
Buy a decent brand that has UV coatings.
Indoors it shouldn’t ever yellow though.
Also – it scratches rather easily – more easily than acrylic and it doesn’t have the ability to be polished either.
Again higher grades have better scratch resistance. The ULTIMATE polycarbonate for glazing which also has a full scratch guard coating is GM Lexan MARGARD…costs a lot, but really works.
