  • Advice on fitting vinyl on headers of HGV’s?

    We have been questioned by a very good customer as to whether there
    is safer way of fitting headers to vehicles, such as the volvo XL, than using
    ladders. Although we have looked at alternatives our fitters prefer using their
    ladders than A frames and towers maintaining that they feel safer.
    Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter as I believe they have a health and
    safety consultant coming in and I want to be prepared

    fitting vinyls from ladders? 😕

    I know many do this, but i would never allow our guys to do it. its so restricting for a start, unsafe in my view too…

    We do 99% of our work using trestles and catwalk. been doing this for as along as i remember now. anything above that, we move to a cherry picker.

    headboards on the likes of a truck is very easy.

    our trestles re 10ft high with 10ft platform catwalk.
    I use a mid-wheel base sprinter and have a set permanently in the back.

    also have a SWB sprinter, but that takes a set corner to corner on their side.
    however, you can buy trestles at various sizes to suit your vehicle. but i find the 10ft high ones the best all rounder size for vehicles and the front of shops.

    wikisignpedia.com = trestles
