  • Advice needed printing Double Sided Posters please?

Posted by David Hammond on 21 March 2011 at 09:44

I have had an order for 2 A1 double sided posters.

I use metamark Poster Paper, which has a waxy back.

I was considering printing them on 220micron PVC, as I can print both sides.

I am not sure the best way to handle this? How can I ensure the posters line up correctly.

I am using Roland Versaworks, and a RS-640.

Not sure if you solved your problem, as this might be a little late for an answer, but here goes how I do the job on my Roland SP540:

    1. Insert media and leave just enough play for the pinch rollers not to be exactly at the margins of the media.

    2. Mark the media position with application tape on both sides

    3. Press Sheet Cut and mark current front position with tape.

    4. Print your poster CENTERED on media.

    5. Take your print out, turn over and reinsert in the machine aligned to your previous tape marks

    6. Align so that the front is at the previously marked front position.

    7. Print back side of poster.

A bit tedious, but it works…
