Advice needed on the best way to Transport our Printer?

Am I right in thinking the Grenadier locks the heads into the capping station on it’s own anyway? I wasn’t aware of any locking pin as such but then I’ve never installed one from new. The Mimaki’s have a clamp that bolts to the bed and holds the heads to the right so it won’t move.

very similar on the sc540 and grenadier a blue press steel frame.

Please if you are unsure ask a friendly supplier to decommission it for transportation, get it wrong and you could ruin your printer, a customer of mine did and was was quoted £4000 by Roland to put right. It doesn’t take long but better to be safe than sorry when your business relies on it.

The manual shows pg 25 a special retainer that bolts around the heads to hold them in place, it should be stored on the back of the printer opposite end to cartridges i.e. right end viewed from rear. If you don’t have manual let me know I’ll scan relevant pages.

If only moving across the road and not tilting , bolt down head and cutter and leave carts in, move carefully should be fine.

If tilting and driving somewhere, bolt down or tape down if lost bolt -masking tape first then parcel tape over masking tape; flush ink out and leave flushing solution in (+flushing solution carts in) and refill at destination.

Above applied to our Mimaki, Roland similar I expect.
