  • Advice needed on Roland Camm 1Pro Cutter please?

Posted by Jarrard Harrison on 23 October 2012 at 18:56

good evening all, my names is Jarrard and I run St Ives Signs in Cornwall, . I have a Roland Camm 1Pro cutter that is over 10 years old and today we got some material stuck in it, we removed the material with now evidence of anything stuck, I have no material width recognition, I get a message " change pinch roller position". I have cleaned and checked all fittings, wires etc,,,

Would look forward to some advise

    Thanks

    Jarrard

Hi Jarrard, bit of an abrupt opening post!!!!

I think if you took the time to introduce yourself in the Welcome Forum and tell us a little about yourself you may get the help you command 😉

you do know you can slide the pinch rollers to the left and right for differant widths of vinyl and that they can only be in certain positions.
1/4 inch too much in either direction and you get that error.
are the pinch rollers on a smooth part of the grit roller or on a gritty part?

Morning & thanks for the reply.
I have had this machine from new, 1st problem in over 10 years.
it’s not the position of the pinch rollers as they are correct to view, is there anything else on the cutter that senses the width,?? Thanks Jarrard

Behind the pinch rollers you have small blocks sat in a recess.
Not sure what they are possibly magnets.

On a 3 roller machine only the outside ones have these.
Are they all there or maybe been knocked out?

or possible damage to the pinch roller sense board on the cutting head or any wires disconnected from the cutting head.

    Hi Tim

    Thanks for your help..

Mine is a two pinch roller, I think it must be the small circuit board at the back of the cutting head, take it its the sensor,,, there are no wires loose.

Thanks for your help, is this a Roland part or are there aftermarket suppliers for small parts like this ??

    Cheers

    Jarrard

Roland part only I would say.

Probably worth a call to Roland to see if you can test it before ordering anything.
