  • Advice for looking at a used SP300

I am looking at an embroidery machine later this week that has been sat in storage for the last 4 years. The seller also has a SP300 and a Brother DTG machine that he is willing to do a deal on if I take all 3 items. I realise that both of these machines will need new heads as the bear minimum and will not be cheap. I am thinking that £1500 upwards to repair the SP300, am I a long way off here, should mean that the seller may be glad to let me take it away for next to nothing.
I would get use from this machine but am worried I may be taking on a very large door stop!
I am hoping that at least it will turn on and show some kind of error messages and that it is not a complete mess. What is the very basic I should look for. Or do I just forget it and concentrate on the embroidery machine.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Many thanks
    Iain
