advice & opinions on squeegee’s
Until recently I just used the first squeegee that came to hand, using it with little thought, a bit of training I learnt more on technique, and used the avery blue squeegee with felt edge for applying wrap films.
The recent omega van I started with the same avery squeegee but fun the harder edge more effective than the felt, and later in the day tried a metamark purple squeegee with even better results.
Is it a case of what you feel comfortable with, or are some squeegees more suited for different applications than others?

I like to use 3m gold for vinyl work, blue avery for digi prints and teflon for manifestation work (etch)

3m gold here for most things but have a strip of velvet taped down one edge
Also carry a wider white one from Hexis that has felt down one side…these are about 5inch wide if I remember correctly

We use ImagePerfect white with felt on one edge and 3M gold squeegees.
We also use felt and Teflon for more delicate work.
I find cheap squeegees wear out very quick and leave bits of themselves everywhere! -
3M gold for most things……….I use a Jag sign supplies felt ‘wing’ on one side.

I am same but i use a home made version of this.
3M Gold squeegee with soft worn denim taped to one side of squeegee.the newer Avery ones are a better when it comes to wrapping, because they have run the felt edge right off the end. the earlier versions the felt stops shy of the end and can cause marks depending on how you swipe your squeegee during application.
I use the Avery Blue and Orange squeegees because its what we buy in ready made, so to speak… but i prefer my 3M gold with denim edge. i really should order some felt wings from JAG to try.
i also always carry solid Oracal Felt squeegees. i dont use them as often these days but always carry.

Where’s best to buy the 3m gold from?
I’m hoping RHG sell them as I need to order some stuff from them today.

I’m low on Clear App tape too, so just waiting for a price back on that to bulk the order up.

I may be wrong but I think Metamark do them too Dave if you ever need to make an order up for free delivery

Ordered from Smiths with a roll of clear app tape slit down to various sizes 🙂 be here tomorrow hopefully in time for the van i’ve got booked in.

3m adapted with some soft felt on one side for prints 😀
