    Guys,

    Another one from me…..

I need some advice on adhesives we have a large school that want to apply 1m high coloured perspex all around the wall, the perspex is going to be 3mm thick and in various solid colours. We will be cutting the pieces in house on our CNC machine and taking these to site.

I was wondering if there was some kind of grab adhesive that I could buy in large tubs and apply directly to the walls or sheets and fixing in place.

    Look forward to your answers

Is this going outside mate? I thought 4.5mm was the usual for external acrylics. If these were that large, I’d use two methods for attaching it to a wall. Either Gel tape and Sicaflex (for a smooth surface), or screws in the wall to hold the sign in place while the sicaflex dries.

I’m in Western Australia so the temperature difference during a day can be quite extreme and Sicaflex can change it’s volume a lot on a normal bead due to thermal expansion.

I like to sleep at nights without worrying if my signs are going to fall down 😉

sorry should have been clearer with this, these 3mm panels are internal.

bonding 3mm is going to cause warping when they switch the heating on, ideally you need to allow for expansion
