I have a client that would like some photos mounted onto the rear of clear acrylic. I would normally use a double sided, optically clear adhesive film, to sandwich between the print and the acrylic. This however, is messy, prone to dust and fiddly.

I have heard about a clear silicone adhesive which I could use.

Alternatively, any recommendations on pigment ink compatible adhesive clear media I could use to reverse print. I can the back off with a white vinyl.

Quite new to all this so would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Thanks Elena – I find the mount film too tricky to use for large runs so am looking for alternatives. Whats the clear laquer you are using?

believe it or not we use frog juice never had a return product. funny thing is the purpose of frog juice is not for this but because it backed up with white vinyl (never tried complete clear see through picture ) it works great and the smooth surface area I’m guessing is why it holds so strongly . i bet any clear car laquar would do the job worth having a play and report back. but be warned only slight mist of spray is needed 🙂

Thanks for that. Just to double check – you can face mount a photo to the back of clear acrylic in this way?

If this is the case you have just saved me a lot of trouble and time ….

Just been looking at the Frog Juice and that looks perfect. Do you think it would work to bond inkjet photo paper face mounted to clear acrylic? Sorry to ask so many questions, but this could be the answer to several months of trial and error.

Any more info you can give on media and application would be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
