  • a supplier of clear vinyl needed please?

Posted by Gareth Williams on 31 January 2008 at 18:19

    Hi there

I had an inquiry yesterday for clear vinyl which must be at least 200 micron and 1400 wide. It must also be uv protected.

Could anyone recommend a supplier who I can contact.

The customer wants at least ten 50m rolls

    cheers

    Gareth

take your pick on companies really… probably better going for an print over laminate vinyl because ide guess that will have more UV stabilisers in it than a regular clear vinyl. try Grafityp or Europoint Display… both have ads on our homepage.

Gareth, as Robert has already said a clear vinyl won’t really be any good to you as they don’t contain UV stabilizers and the customer has asked for this.

Look in the digital media sections of suppliers cataloges for clear laminate, have they said what they want it for because it might make a difference to them if it is Matt or gloss.
I would also offer them a couple of different options as well because generally speaking the more expensive the laminate the longer lasting it is.

Companies Robert mentioned all sell it along with people like Robert Horne, Victory, Metamark, in fact pretty much anyone who supplies digital print media.

Gareth, Rob and martin havnt noticed how thick, and that is pretty thick stuff, try printone, they do convex, but I think only upto 750mm wide.

Alternative hexis do a Armour guard type clear film but not sure on its uv properties

its not going to be cheap though

Thank you all for your response, europoint do sell it and it is 200 micron
(not a bad price either) but they are not sure of its UV properties, they said they will let me know

    Cheers
