6m long seawater proof ruler
Afternoon,
I’ve a harbour master after a seawall depth marker to replace an ancient painted wooden one.
It’ll be mounted on ‘taninised’ / submersible wood.
The water is brackish in the estuary so aluminium / composite is out of the question.
As it’s fully submerged with the tides twice daily a degree of longevity is required. A sub-surface, cut through was a thought – like engraving laminate, but that’s not keen on submersion.
Aside from a fully stainless steel job…any inspired ideas?
200mm x 6m.
Markers at 10cm…yada yada.

GRP is you answer dave, def for estuary and inland
I was asked for one of these a while back, job didn’t come off but after looking into it they seem to be made of GRP.
Few companies online do them -
GRP as MArtin says – but could be expensiv?
I’ve used Traffolyte in similar wet conditions but black centre would probably fade too much in this case. The acrylic (or similar material) flexible engraving laminate is UV stable and would I think stand up to the salt and you can get it in 3mm thk. I’d expect it to be less costly than the gRP if that’s an issue. Maybe worth considering.
