  • 651 RED vinyl with text on it… Where would you get this?

I have been supplying load lines for a job we are doing for a few months now and we have to fit a 33mm wide load line in red with the text "DO NOT LOAD ABOVE THIS LINE"

I have printed this but it stretches to much
Supplied it in cut strips of 1200 long with cut text on it and it works but then i have joins all the way along the line 🙁

My plotter refuses to cut consistently over anything longer than 1.5mtr so doing it in one length is out the question.

The average length i need is around 9.5mtrs…

Is there somewhere that I can buy a pre-made roll with the text on it?

Or is this something that a screen printing place would offer?

Last option is to have a roll of vinyl (50mtrs) cut to smaller widths of 33mm and apply the text my self on site but for speed and easiness an all in one solution would be best.

What are peoples thoughts on this one?

What plotter are you using stuart? If your having problems with anything over 1.5 mtrs then there’s something seriously wrong with either the plotter or the way you are loading the vinyl & squaring it up. 9.5 mtrs may be a push but 5 or 6 mtrs shouldn’t be a problem if it’s set up correctly.

I think if you approach someone like Robert horne and ask nicely, they’ll cut the roll at you widths, I’ve done it with 20m roll before now, needed two 10m x 25mm strips so bought 20m and had them slice off a couple of 25mm bits, very useful and still a very usable roll left over.

as for the text, I’d cut that seperately and apply after.

    martin:
Our jaguar plotter is getting old 🙂 it just refuses to go over 5mtr without running off.. Issue isnt that it runs off over one cut, but we can be running up to 10 from one bit of vinyl. then it causes the machine to run off.

Also been trying to use our mimaki and roland but same issues…
Both completely square on set up..

I think if i cant buy them in pre made then its the manual application route 🙂

    cheers guys

think i might give this more thought as you get to put the lettering where its meant to be.

I have contacted RH and awaiting a price and wither they can supply me the material pre cut into 50mtr rolls of 33mm wide red 🙂

If they can do that then it saves me having to get a local place to try cut it for us 🙂

Robert horne have done part rolls down to 39mm for us so i see no reason why not.
