All depends on mug style and exact print requirements really as to which/where is the best way. Any tones and how complex is the print. Other print methods might be more suited.

Hi John, customer is providing mugs and they are not coated so sublimation is not a possibility.

Till now I am thinking DCP – watersliding and then firing seems to be most cost effective.

However if anyone got a better idea?will be much appreciated.

If the artwork allows, screen printing is the way to go.

I would not take on the job if the customer is providing the mugs.

There is too much risk. Firing the mugs is a risky business, when we order from Ceramic Designs (google them) they have a 5% over or under policy, to get the required amount, them make more, this is due to when the kiln fires them, they can break.

The profit is in the mugs….not really the printing….so your customer is trying to remove a large chunk of your profit.

Any problem with his supplied mugs and he will certainly blame you not his mugs……
