  • 4×4 wheel cover problem

    Hi all
    customer just dropped his plastic wheel cover off black.
    a quick wipe with isoprop and its now got big white streaks
    cant get rid of them the cloth is turning black.
    have ordered a new one
    any ideas what to use to degrease before applying vinyl looks like isoprop is too aggresive would meths be ok

    been caught my self with the high gloss covers soapy water only but if they are new just remove the protector and fit graphics.

    thanks chis
    managed to get it back black and shiny with silicone etc
    so Will keep it as a sample
    good old hot and soapy

    That’s odd, we always isoprop with our covers and never have any problems. Must be manufactured out of a softer material.

    Man that would suck!
    I think I’d try Rapid Prep, made by Rapid Tac.
    I hate those damn tire covers. They are a pain to paint or to apply vinyl onto.

    I’m sure it was meths I used on an old cover before i flood coated it and it held up fine.
