    Hi Guys

Was wanting some help as to what vinyl i must use for my digital printer.
It is arriving on the 18th of Feb.

My local supplier is able to supply me with either Avery or 3M. Im not too sure what to go for. The thing is this.

I can get Avery 3000 1-2yr for equivalent 1.73 per square
Or he can give me 3M IJ20 for 1.88 per square

Next up he can supply me
Avery 2000 for 3.30 per square
    or 3M IJ40 for 4.33

as you can see the 3M if a bit more expensive. In my experience you get what you pay for but i want to make a calculated decision on this. Dont want to be spending too much on media in the long run and finding out that the cheaper product was actually a lot better.

Have any of you used both of these medias and which ones did you find better.

I can only reply as to using both brands for cut vinyl.
I would choose 3M if the Avery was free for life.
I have had several Avery failures, and none with 3M.
I have used a digiprint on 3M Controltac with Comply, and it is idiot and bubble proof I swear.

    thanks guys

how is the application easy of the avery. Someone said the 3000 is a bit rubbish very thick and tough to work with. also how does it work when die cutting?

Oh it’s real easy to apply. Nice colors and easy to weed.
The hard part is taking it off once it fails.
Even harder to find out that Avery won’t compensate you for labor, only more replacement Avery.
    Be safe.
Would you rather do a job once (3M) or have to replace it for free after it fails (Avery)?

We use 3000 for stickers and short term signage. I don’t really apply it by hand for any large graphics. We mount them to panels using the ezy taper.

We cut it fine on our Roland.

Using the Avery profile for the 3000 is great. I prefer its thicker especially for the things we use it for.

We also use the matt versions of the 3000. I think its 3021 something like that. Now that’s great. It goes down really well.
