Need to edge seal it as far as I know. Other then that, sticky side goes onto the trailer.

as has been said, make sure it has been edge sealed.
we dont use much of this at all but when we do we buy from http://www.wmsmith.co.uk best prices i could find… might be an idea to ask them for advice when ordering…
it has a high initial tack so make sure your prepared for that. -
The new diamond grade is easier to apply than the old stuff, but as rob says, sticks immediately so not much room for error.

Hi Claire
As others have said check it is edge sealed – if you have the DG3 product (known as 980 series for pre edge sealed product) you should be able to tell by checking long edge and seeing a constant weld approx 2mm wide along both edges, if you have the 983 product (only available at 55mm wide) then this is edge sealed differently and is almost invisible. If in doubt check with your supplier.
Make sure surface is flat and clean (clean with IPA) and apply at minimum temp of 10 degrees C
Do not apply over sharp ridges and panel joints that flex as this can cause delamination. Do not overlap product to itself – always butt joint.
Finally be aware if pressure washing vehicles after application that 3M recommend as follows – 15 degree max angle, nozzle distance 1 metre minimum, 80bar (1000psi) max nozzle pressure and use wide fan pattern.
