    Hi everyone,

I would appreciate peoples view on this, we would like to look at the possibility of obtain a vinyl printer I am torn between Thermal Ribbon such as Summa DC4 (this is a little to large for us) or Inkjet, but I am only looking at a small printer for this, as we would rather obtain larger printed vinyl from our trade supplier.

However we deal allot with motor sport clients, who tend to ask for one off designs, we would be pleased to offer this to our clients, however, our suppliers tend to work on minimum orders.

Seeing that we have a Summa D120SE with opus, we would use the Opus facility to cut the printed vinyl

Therefore I would appreciate any recommendation on a small colour vinyl printer, and peoples views on ribbon as opposed to inkjet.

I am sure that this must of been asked before so I apologise if I am repeating the same question.

    All the best

    Silvio

I would recommend getting some sort of Eco Solvent printer such as a Mutoh, Rowland or Mimaki. The cost of ink is less than ribbon and the new Ultra ink is great. I would stay away from water based ink jets like Encad, Epson or HP unless you just do indoor POP stuff.

I think the best value on the market for outdoor use now is the "Mutoh ValueJet 1204 48"

    Good Luck
