not as mad as his wife went, mainly cos she knew nothing about it!!! lol
ive got my other directors brand new vw passat estate to do soon! he-he-he
-
used the mactac JT series fleet vinyl, with a laminate to match, must say its the first time i have wrapped a car with it, and am suitably impressed!!
hope that helps
jas
ps, printed on a JV3
-
Haven’t tried that brand before. Did you do the image yourself or was it a stock image?
-
designed the whole thing from the ground up!
if you get a chance to play with the mactac, you should, it good ol stuff!

Very original, Jas

Instead of Vinyl wrapping the boss’s BMW, why didn’t you just put some lettering on it that said "Nob end" – that would’ve got him noticed 😕
-
lol, nob end!! like it!
have put the company logo in with the design just in front of the rear wheel arch, and company website on the rear wings
am hoping to add some further reflective text on the sides, but nobby hasnt decided what he wants!!!

very nice, i like the design…
what vinyl have you used and was it laminated etc?the design is similar to a wrap design i have been working on for our vans.
although i prefer the various shades of green you have in yours. mine is green and white too and also abstract type of thing also…
the artwork i started with was in vector form purchased from istock and ive just tweaked the hell out of it now :lol1:
did you create that design from scratch? -
thanks rob
i came up with the design from scratch, using illustrator cs2, the vinyl i used was the mactac jt series, with a matching laminte, both cast materials, bugger to heat in, but it stays put when it is heated up to its req setting temp.
i have som more shots of the back i can put up if your interested,
also printed on a jv3, pure solvent, as the ink loading needs to bed in heavy to the material.

even better then, not a lazy sod like me buying something to start with. 😳 :lol1: :lol1:
yes, ide like to see the rest of the car if you have them. just click edit on your original post and keep adding the image/s.
a single post will hold about 7 attachments i think.mactacs wraps are pretty good. i have only ever used their macfleet but swear by it for large recessed areas. difficult to work with unlaminated or taped though as it is very temperamental when working in cold rooms.
-
im a bit of a lightweight with unlaminated vehicle stuff, never do it, always comes back at bites me in the wilf!

Nice range of stuff on the company website esp the work in progress section. Nice to see the work involved in getting from the basic car to fully wrapped………………
-
cheers graeme
might put some up of me screaming abuse at one of the cars, and generally throwing a hissy fit!!! lol

Now that would probably get trashed in about 5 minutes in Scotland because of the colours!!! Especially in Glasgow.
I would have liked to have seen his face when he saw it for the first time!! Mind you it will obviously get noticed and if it brings lots of work in I am sure he will be very happy.
Have you got pictures of his wifes car, must get some interesting comments from the neighbors when they are both parked in his drive.

dont say that martin, thats the colours i am wrapping our vans in… :lol1:
we do have some blue in ours too mind you, but not much in comparison to the green and the white. 😕i am hoping get the vans wrapped soon but they are going into the body shop to replace a rear door on one and touch ups on the others before i start. i am doing 3 out of the four and will be videoing them for tutorials on the site. should be good for folk looking to see how to go about doing a wrap.

NICE ONE JASON/
WOULD LOVE TO GET INTO WORK LIKE THAT…WELL COOL!!! -
Nice work mate
Love the colours and i really like the idea of the K2 within the design , its like one of those subliminal messages hiding in the design, its the sort of thing that catches my eye and try to read while crashing in to the car in front of menice suff mate

Robert I just find it frustrating sometimes when a customer says to you that they don’t want any Green on their van or they don’t want any Blue. I just don’t understand it myself but then I suppose a lot of it is to do with how you were brought up.
When Jon was working with me we did a van for a Rangers supporter who Jon had known for years and didn’t get on particularly well with. When we had finished the van Jon cut a small Celtic badge and stuck it on the inside of the rear door behind the door panel. After that it was difficult to talk to the guy when ever we saw him and keep a straight face.

You should try working in northern Ireland,
Not so bad now but it used to be that you couldn’t use 4 colours
RED Blue, Green and Yellow, especially on a white van 😀 😀
Ian -
Ian, no thanks I think Scotland is bad enough for that sort of thing and it’s not really that wide spread anymore. !!!!
Yes I was asked on quite a few occasions not to use Red and Blue on a white van, what use to amuse me though was that they were happy for me to do their van and I am English !!!!
-
do have to confess, me ma is scots, from the lovely little town of inverness!!!
cheers rich for the comments, hope you well mate, and still having fun in croydon !!! lol
and thanks ian too!!! i am quite pleased with the result! (bar the hissy fits whilst fitting it!!)
watch this space!! (for when i stitch my other director up!!!)
and i might post some pics of my own car up, but its a bit of a marmite thing!
youll either love it or hate it! loljas
