Yup I second that 220gsm and very nice finish although I have some drying problems with heavy ink.

    Hi All

I use the MDPP and agree it gives a very good finish

    BUT

how the heck do you guys to get it to dry full stop, never mind just with heavy ink?

I’ve wacked the temp to max, put it through on the least ink possible, have tried every profile known to man, have set up fan heaters blowing onto the print etc. etc.

It never dries quick enough to use the auto take up unit on my RS640, so all prints have to be wound out across the print room floor and then left to dry flat for about an hour (at least) before they can be rolled up?????

    I’m using original Roland inks

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

    Hi David

I only have problems on heavy ink colours like solid red, blues and blacks otherwise a photo for example will be fine, I run my temps at max and it’s fine on my takeup.

What I do now when there are solid colours is I have a small Infrared heated in front of the print and a fan blowing on it as well and it dries fine on the take up.

I tried so many setting and none made any difference and this is the only way I get around it, all printing on medium quality too.

I have been looking around for another suitable paper but none have been as nice or any better in the same price range so at the moment I still use the Metamark.

I found the fan on setting 2 works better than the heater but both together solves the problems.

    cheers

spandex IP2408 poster paper is by far the best I’ve used and we have tried LOTS. Prints great and dries well, though not as good as a vinyl.

The Hexis PPH501 200gsm satin prints really nicely and dries ok on our JV33.
