Just had a thought and wondered why the latest post dont name the original author?
I think it would be a good idea, maybe not, but what do you think?

i had to read this 3 times … then i got it. 😀

i agree with you both, would be good, but i think it will beat the purpose of the “latest post…by?” i know that “i” personaly look to see the name change even if the last post hasnt. if a good quick fire topic is on the go it would just say “quick fire, by peter normington” all the time. but it could be it being a popular discussion that keeps it at the top and 20 posts have been made, but would we read it, for thinking it was the same post?

    hope that made sense. 😕

hey rich, we gonna see you in the bar at signuk next year mate? 😉

The reason I had the thought was like when somebody has something to show, like “quick fire vehicle wrap By Rob,” it then refers to the person who done it, the latest post still changes in name underneath as it does now.
I just thought it would make things a bit easier to follow, as sometimes the topic goes off at a tangent and the latest post doesnt always show any relivance to the authors original.

nothing to do with the web guy dave, more the poster 😉

yep, got you now peter, i was picking you up wrong.
the topic titles are limited to a certain amount of charactors, having “by: peter normington” at the end may fall short of the amount available.
having less spaces between the text stops the text wrapping on itself properly and throws the page structure out.
at the end of the day, i guess if someone ones it on, then by all means add it. but even today, 2 weeks after us mods sat sifting night and day through the gallery section organising posts, people are still disregarding the new and very simple rules for that forum 😕 we knew it would happen and not always meant, but does get annoying.

anyway, continual blatant disregard for the new forums open and the new ones coming will result in the post being deleted, rather than edited.
its the only way to try and get folk to use this place so that we can all enjoy it. if every time it is disregarded “we fix it” why should anyone bother?

sorry, im not going off on one… just wanted to point it out while we are on the subject of post titles etc 😉 :lol1: :lol1:

edit: just noticed the topic has changed 😉 :lol1:
