Hi Guys, looking for some help/hints, we specialise in vinyl wraps but have a friend who wanted the windows tinted, like complete fools, we said yes! All good with the side windows but its on an Audi A5 Coupe and when we have come to do the rear window, we cannot get it to shrink as advised from the outside to mould to the window shape.heating it does not seem to make much difference to the shape of the material, it is Vion classic tint we are using. We do not want to do this commercially so it is really just to help our friend, any hints for novices from folks in the know? TIA Mark

Hi, i do a fair amount of tinting.

A lot can depend on the film, i’ve never used or heard of Vion but as its being sold by william smith it should be fit for purpose.

I’m assuming the side windows heat shrunk ok? With the rear, create your H pattern and work outside to inside. Heat your fingers (film fingers not your own 🙂 ) until they start to wrinkle and squeegee.

Tinting isnt something you can just jump into, its a pain in the ****, but if you managed to do the side windows then you have done well so far.

Plenty of youtube vids but i’m guessing you have already done this

Thank you, Martyn, with the help of Thomas at Willian Smith and your suggestions, we have managed to fit the rear window film.

    Appreciated.
