    Dumb question but I actually don’t know the answer.

    J channel or similar for a sign that slides back and forth…
    What do you guys put in each end? Maybe am just looking in the wrong place?
    Not something we have done a lot of. Just got a few for a good customer.
    For door signs like this, I just tend to order in and have a nice solid black cap. But am drawing a blank on sign trade supplies and signgeer.

    Hi Chris

    B&Q do it for mirrors and glass sliding doors. I would imagine Screwfix, Toolstation etc may do it too. Look for an aluminium J-shaped extrusion.

    Just mitre cut the metal to form the sides also, and the slat will slide up and lock into it when pushed.

    What you need to be careful with is how you are fixing it.
    i.e. Screws, Foam stick tape, VHB tape, glue etc.
    i.e.
    Screws would need countersunk
    * Tapes might show the edge/colour of it if taken right to the edge.
    * Tapes can be thick.
    * The back of the J, ‘some are deep’ and can expose more of the metal as shown with the B&Q one attached.
    * This one has a 5mm slat, so you could have two slats. 1mm acetate slat at the rear in colour as the back sign the door slat in 2 or 3mm

    Alternatively, you will get plastic extrusions for J, U, shapes, if your preference is glueing them. B&Q and Plumbing sites etc.
