Has anyone used Solar Power for signs?
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has used any solar power options for illuminating signs?
We have some internal ones for a foyer with no power options anywhere apart from ripping parts of a ceiling out and the building managers categorically have is a big NO! Lol!
We would be able to mount some solar panels on a wall high up which is directly next to large windows and they are also south facing hence the solar option.
I’ve seen plenty of odd-grid kits that I assume require a leisure battery but I’d rather go with a recommendation from someone on the board that’s bought the stuff before. Our power use is 40w and needs to run a minimum of 12 hours a day but they would prefer it to be 24 hours a day. I’m also a little unsure on what size of panel/battery I would need so if anyone can help then a massive thanks in advance.

not cheap (no solar options appear to be!) but they certainly know their stuff!

I have been tempted by bimblesolar.com for my house but haven’t used them yet.
Their off-grid kit might be enough if it gets a full charge. Solar panels should be fitted at an angle, not flat to the wall so the panel might not generate the 100w. It might be an idea to double up on the solar panels.
40w at 12v = 3.33a so a 50ah battery should last 15 hours on a full charge
