What do you include on your estimate?
Whilst we’ve a few spare hours this week, looking at improving how our estimates are formatted.
Usually I manually type out the spec, Clarity creates a nice description for run of the mill stuff, but I’m looking at creating a template with questions to complete, so at a glance a customer can see what’s included, and ensures there’s no ambiguity as to what is/isn’t included.
Installation (Yes/No) (In Office Hours/Outside Office Hours)
Access Equipment (Yes/No) (Tower/Cherry Picker)What other ‘typical’ things do you include on your quotes?

Artwork in vector format or more money please.
Restrictions I.e can’t park close by between 9am and 3pm (some silly rule we have in our town centre) although I suppose that would fall under your installation.
… am struggling now though. Though question.

We include artwork and state the time included in the quote or "printed from artwork supplied"
Parking is one thing we don’t include on it, but should where applicable.

I always cover travel time at our hourly rate, especially if it’s a job / area I don’t particularly want, I’m not spending 3hrs in traffic plus fuel for a two hour job!
Yes parking too.

I use to include "Subject to full site survey" on mine, especiaiiy if I hadn’t already done one or only had time for a quick look. That covers a multitude of problems you may find once you take a close up look.
If the nstallation involves removing old signage then you might want to include something that covers hat you may find when removing old signs, ie a backing or framework that will need to be completely replaced 😆 😆 😆
Robert Lambie posted a job they had done where there were a lot of signs all stuck on top of each other, can’t remember how many there were now but it went back decades if I remember right 😆 😆
