  • Printing on to clear colour not vibrant enough

Posted by Daniel Evans on 12 August 2019 at 15:24

    Hi

I need to print on to some clear material for some labels, normally when I print clear stuff I back it with white but in this case I can’t do that and the bottle it’s going onto is also clear.

In Versaworks, is there a way I can print it twice to get more vibrancy?

    Thanks

    Dan

Hi Dan, have a check through the options under "printer controls" for one called "overprint". This allows you to do up to 3 passes. Hopefully will help you although the colour of the liquid will also effect the end result.

    Thanks David

Just seen that but wasn’t sure what that was, do you know ‘page space’ part is for?

That’s how much material is left at the end of your print. Normally keep ours at 200mm to feed into the laminator or if I’m printing multiple sheets I’ll set it to 50mm. Doesn’t save a massive amount of material but it all adds up eventually

or try max impact or sign and display, both options in versaworks

It’s best to under print the cmyk with white ink if you have it we used to get ok results with our roland solvent white ink but now have uv cured white which is night and day better.
