Always used it neat, back in the day before Ipa, i’d used methylated spirit watered down 50% otherwise it had a tendancy to stain white paint purple. Never really considered watering down ipa

no, never. I have dropped two suppliers over the years for doing this to me!

you can tell when it is watered down.
it stops removing the likes of pen marks and stubborn stains but most noticeable is it tends to bead on the surface and not dry as quick.

I used to use avery surface cleaner. still do on occasion. but I felt that since it moved from the dark green to the mint green coloured liquid, it lost its strength. whether that was down to watering it down or changing the solution, I have no idea but kinda bugged me at the time.

I usually drink mine neat – albeit with a bit of ice which tends to water it down a bit :awkward:

Nearly drank panel wipe once. In my apprentice days we used to fill up old drinks bottles. Wasn’t nice tasting Ribena.. was also warm, no Ice 🙁

Only for prepping paintwork, prior to vinyl hanging, as per 3M recommendations.

Used neat the rest of the time, and the smell acts like a magnet to certain other occupants of the building. As a kid, I remember being told that vodka smells like paint stripper. No, paint stripper smell like good vodka.

Always neat. Sometimes use it as a moisture displacement as well as glue remover, panel wipe etc and obviously doesn’t stain like mineralised meths.

Buy it in bulk from Shiny Hardware. Usually get 4-5 months out of 25 litres of 99.9%.
