  • Roland CJ500 Power up issue – any ideas?

We’ve a Roland CJ500 that we use for plotting, old as the hills but works very well.

Gone to start today, fires up, displays model info etc, then moves onto ‘processing…’ at which point it shuts down to flag up the ‘illegal shutdown turn off power’ message, so I do, at the master switch, then master switch back on, press power button and same issue again.

Don’t recall shutting off incorrectly yesterday, but now can’t get it past that ‘processing…’ screen before shutting down.

Seems to me something may be shorting and causing this loop, which I hope isn’t the case as been a great machine!

Any ideas? Anybody had anything similar?

    Thanks

Whispering a few sweet nothings to it has got me past the processing stage to the following message….

INTRENAL ERROR:MConnect _dispatch:mistake to connect print carrrige

Gives me something to Google now at least

Sorted it, the only search results on google were online engineer chats essentially saying not fixable, so if anybody drops on this page in future trying to resolve this problem just drop me a message and I’ll talk you through it
