Thank you Chris!

Wouldn’t call it a chrome to be fair but from the few phone calls I made this was the best option life span.
Other than the Avery supreme gold chrome at £104 a meter or whatever it was. Not something I want a sample of anyway let alone order.

Hi Chris. Just seen the 800. I need actual chrome recommendation.
Others members, please share your choice of chrome silver.

The only way to increase the life of a chrome finish "polyester" vinyl type film is to mount it to a base of vinyl.
i.e. a chrome letter sat on top of a black letter to form a chrome letter with a black outline. (hope that makes sense)
however, chrome films are all short term and the coloured version is simply a colour tint over the face, so does fade leaving you a chrome base finish again.
that said, I would still not use it on a vehicle, I am talking signs!if you want to do it right, you MUST opt for a proper long life cast wrapping film which is available from Hexis, 3M, Avery etc I think there is a couple of polymeric versions doing the rounds but I have never used them. but recall someone stating on these boards that it’s available.
Anyway, if you have to use it, use the chrome cast. It will plot and weed and apply very easy, the polyester films do not.
you will pay £75-£150 per linear metre for cast. sounds expensive but not if you are charging accordingly. If the customer wants that "something special", then they should also be paying a premium.
Keep in mind you will be buying by the linear metre.
