Gassing off chamber concept
Good Morning all,
I have designed an air tight cupboard to store printed vinyl (stood on end, loosened off core) to try to increase curing turn-around and avoid contaminants getting onto the material prior to lamination. I plan to install two bathroom extractor fans top and bottom that should swap out the air within the chamber very quickly (approx 5mtrs of air per min). My concept is that if eco-solvent ink gasses off into the air if the air is moving or forced to refresh it should speed up the out gassing of the material. I have not started this project yet and so at this point would be interested in hearing from anyone with any thoughts on the concept.

Good idea. My only input would be to make sure the air exchange is from top to bottom as the eco solvent is heavier than air and will be be more readily removed if the air is passing down through the loose coils. But you probably know that already :thumbsup:

To be honest i was going to go the other way so thank you good point. I will be starting the project soon and then running tests to see how different parameters effect the gassing off. I have a spare aircon duct that I could potentially offer temperature controlled air which may or mayn’t have a different effect. I will experiment and report back in due course!
