Help with pricing this job
I’ve got to send a quote over for a job, I don’t tend to do these jobs as i mainly fit vehicle graphics so I just need a little guidance.
I need to fit an aluminum channel frame for a foamex sign to slide into which is about 5/6 metres up. The channel is costing me about £200 from cherwell for a 770 x 3000mm frame alone.
I’ll hire a cherry picker for this as I don’t like ladders and scaffolding towers take too long to put up so I need to add this to the quote.
How much do you tend to add to the frame costs, 20% or more?
How long does it take to put these frames up, my guess is a couple of hours?
How much would you charge for the cherry picker, do you tend to have a day/half day rate? I’m thinking £300 fixed rate for the job
I’m ok with the printing costs of the sign and labor charges are based on what I want which I tend to use £30 an hour.I don’t want to to go in too cheap but at the same time, I don’t want to price myself out of the job.

Charge for the frame at £300.00 plus panel and graphic, the cherry pickers tend to be charged per day plus delivery each way, be careful as they vary considerably and watch the load weight too, I’d budget for £200-250 at cost for this, then half a day to put it up to cover travel and fuel. You may need a second man too…

To be honest we use Ashby or Nova don’t think the price would be much cheaper for the frame so that £200 sounds about right. Where you might come a cropper is the fitting a cherry picker is very expensive compared to a tower or ladders unless
it’s definitely needed for access or safety etc.
We would always use a tower up to about 6 meters platform height.On these jobs we tend do things slightly different stick £50 on the frame usual on panel and graphics about 15%
As for fitting if its a brick wall its always good to drill the frame off first so your not using too many drills or changing drill bits evey 2 min. If everything goes to plan and fitting is ok something like that should only be a mornings work at most
Panatrim frames are very easy to fit. You might need to scew join the panels together or panel locks. If the panels are not locked they can blow out in very strong winds.Good Luck.

i have done plenty of these in the past, use to buy euro trim frame from robert horne for about £50.00+vat for 6m length, obviously they no longer exist and europoint no longer stock the item
have not been able to find a new supplier for this at a decent price
install should take around 30min on a scissor lift, here is a link to my you tube channel showing the install in real time (25min but that was with tools out ready to go!)

that is our own lift, brought from a plant machine seller on ebay about 12 years ago, it was originally green and i had it painted black, cage comes of and i load it in the back of a sprinter van
we use it mainly for 40ft trailer wraps and graphics, saves a tone of time!

Can you remember the make if it? The ones I see seem so flimsy.

it was imported from china (use to speak Chinese, i couldn’t understand what it was chatting about so cut the wires to the speaker)
