  • Advice needed on digital vinyl for car / motorbikes etc?

    Hi all

Just starting up on the print side of our business and got hold of a decent sp540i and just playing about with it.

I do use a lot of "normal sign vinyl" as we have cutters here .etc

My question is I have a couple of motorbike shops I supply with graphics and a few other very good customers who are in to grass track racing who we supply….
What is the best or good quality digital vinyl to use on cars / motorbikes that you guys recommend…. I will be giving the option of laminated or un-laminated as some of the bikes will be lacquered over so no laminate would be required.

I am not in to vehicle wrapping well not anytime soon..

I have some cheap digital stuff from mdp to play about with while I get used to the machine / profiles / graphics and do not really like it that much as I supply 2 motorbike shops I do not want them peeling off there machines..

Thank you so much for any information that can help me out

    Brian

    Hi Brian

You are basically looking for a vinyl that will adhere to low energy surfaces.
Give William Smiths a call and explain what you are wanting to use the digital film for and i am sure they will keep you right. They have various brand options for this type of thing. https://www.williamsmith.co.uk

Hi brian, check out allprint.co.uk they supply vinyl and matching lam for mx bikes. Its called "the thick stuff". Made for low energy plastics and the lam is much thicker than normal.

    Hi Brian

I’m not sure if you’ve got stuff sorted but i do a lot of Mx Graphics and use a company called Substance Europe

Really tacky vinyl with ultra thick laminate but great for bike plastics. Get in touch with them they’re happy to send samples out too 🙂
