Small Supply Only Signs Livery Yard Mono or Poly?
Hi all,
We’ve recently been asked to do some small (A3+A4) signs for a livery yard. Generally we just produce wall stickers sold on online marketplaces etc but have been looking to do some supply only signs for a while now.
So we have been asked to do them on ACM which we have some panels lying about the office, however were not sure about what vinyl to use and also whether to laminate. Obviously doing indoor wall stickers we are used to using Mono (LG from Allprint).
They are just going to be simple little printed signs with Yard Rules on etc not sure whether 3-5 Year Mono would be OK or is it best ordering some Poly in? Also laminating?

Personally would always go polymeric and laminate as want to keep customer happy and everything looking good for years to come. We have poly in all the time though. monomeric would do. Won’t last forever though. Again we laminate pretty much everything.

Laminated monomeric will be more than adequate for many years to come.
I’d advise edge wrapping the prints though….print a little bit bigger and wrap the excess round the composite. Prevents shrinking / edge lift and looks a lot more premium.Dave

I use the same LG 3-5 year product with the matching gloss laminate your on a winner, always offer customers the polymeric option but they normally need them updating before they ware out. Always laminate outside signs just to ensure the colours last as long as possible.
I would also agree with edge wrapping although the LG media sticks like a high tack and one of the main reasons I use it as i’ve never suffered from corners lifiting.

Thanks guys. Quick one for you Kevin, not sure what setup your using but if you are using a Versacamm what ICC are you using if you don’t mind me asking? We’re using Generic Vinyl 2 at the minute but just wondering if there’s anything better? Have tried installing a ICC that all print sent us for the vinyl but it just seems to throw up an error in Versaworks

Im using a HP latex 310 but one of the big reasons I have switched over to Allprint instead of my previous supplier Metamark is because allprint will nearly 100% of the time supply a rip profile for their media so you don’t have to guess at getting it right, they have several printers and create their own profiles for the media. They are also the main uk supplier for LG media so prices are very keen as apposed to buying elsewhere.
