  • Problem with Versaworks Dual after update.

Posted by Stephen Morriss on 29 September 2017 at 10:12

I’ve posted this on the Roland DG forum as well so hopefully between that and this forum I’ll get a response.

Just updated Roland Versaworks Dual today (Friday 29th) and now when I import pdf or eps files they fail with a corrupt file warning, this is with both new and old files, the old files worked previously no problem.
I’m guessing it’s either a problem with the update or the update has messed up Versaworks, I’d rather not reinstall it from scratch as I then need to go through all the settings again.
Fortunately I have versaworks on another computer so I’m able to carry on working but this is a rather old computer and it’s a bit slower.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Just updated ourselves Stephen and seems to be running perfect thankfully. Having terrible problems with our new gr640 cutter which apparently this update will fix. Hadn’t time to test it yet. A fresh install may be the only way to go for you 🙁

Do you leave VW runnining all the time ?
I have had this problem with versaworks not dual though !
I turn VW off and restart .. then it works perfect until the next time 🙂

No, I start it each day. I’ve also restarted Versaworks a few times and restarted the computer, I think I’ll just have to bite the bullet and reinstall it 👿

I am having exactly the same problem, I even did a system restore back to before the update and every single file will not load including new ones saying File Corrupt. Can anyone help as I only have one computer and it’s now goosed. Seriously thinking of getting rid of this back to Roland NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

HEre we go this is what I have done to get it working, go to START ===> ROLAND VERSAWORKS ===> Run ONLINE UPDATER ===> CHECK FOR UPDATES when it returns with the updates ONLY update the VERSAWORKS part about 13mb after I did this it worked so maybe the rest of the update is causing a problem. Hope it works for you.

I ended up un installing and deleting the versaworks Dual folder and then re installing it, I’ve not tried the updates yet as I didn’t want the problem but I might try just the program update and see how it goes.

P.S. No that just caused the corrupt file error again!
I’ve now logged a case with Roland so we’ll see what happens now.

That’s not good, if you get a fix from Roland would you mind letting me know.
