Window graphics – white marks?
Hi all,
So I completed my first proper solo project, really pleased with how it turned out… however… installed it late yesterday afternoon, been back to check it this morning and it’s developed some white marks (see photos). Not seen this before on other window graphics I’ve applied. Can anyone shed some light onto what this is and whether it will dissappear? I’m hoping it’s just drying out (as they were applied wet). Windows were thoroughly cleaned and scraped, using Avery Surface Cleaner.
Worried that it won’t go away and they’ll have to be redone which will take ALL the profit out of the job.Any advice would be greatly welcomed!

Hi Peter, if the glass was clean before the application, I’d let it settle for a few weeks and fingers crossed it will have gone.

That’s what I’m hoping! I’m hoping it’s just a slight reaction in the adhesive (definitely solvent, not water based) and it will disperse in the next week or so… very worried that it doesn’t though!!

Did you use a washing up liquid ?

Used a very small amount of Fairy liquid in the water to apply it. But hardly any, probably less that I usually do if I’m honest.
Do you think it may be left over detergent?

Don’t worry – give it a week and it should disappear.

It will be fine Pete, little milky patches are normal, will dry out in a week

I done a similar job early in the year and the same happened.
I put it down to the soap congealing in the bottle as I had just returned from holiday for a couple of weeks.
Cleaned it out and never had the problem since.
All disappeared in time so was OK

The white marks have all disappeared now! (Thank god!!) Thanks for all your advice everyone 🙂
