  • Help with Profile for HP Designjet Z3100

    Hi,

    Please can someone help.

I’ve never done this before but I would like to upload a profile to the printer so I can hopefully improve the print quality on the paper I am using.

I’m finding the matte black smudges so have had to print as photo gloss paper but the gloss black looks grainy and not a rich black.
I’m hoping getting the right profile for the paper will improve the results and maybe let me go back to using the matte black.

The profile I want to upload is called PSO Uncoated v3 (FOGRA52) which I downloaded from eci.org

First ‘newbie’ question is, having never uploaded a profile, will it clear all the other media settings on the printer i.e. Gloss Paper etc. Will it come up if I scroll through the types of printing material?

Second question is, I tentatively started to try to upload using HP Utility and it said there was an error with the file, so is this profile not compatible with a Z3100?

Any help and guidance would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Matt
