  • Working out the costs on Mimaki Rasterlink

Posted by Benjamin Hall on 12 January 2017 at 18:22

    Hi,

I have been told that the Roland rip program tells you how much ink be used on each print (beforehand), is there any advice for Mimaki users?

I use Rasterlink Pro5SG and I can only see the ink being used after a print.

Would be really helpful if anyone knows how to predict how much ink will be used or how much its costs to print on these machines?

    I have a Mimaki CJV 30.

    Thanks in advance.

Print a 500x500mm square of registration black, see how much ink it says it’s used, multiply by 4 there’s an approximate cost per Sq/m.

It will vary from profile to profile, but in the grand scheme of things ink cost will be negligible.

Price of ink divided by ml to work ouy price per ml then check how many ml used in rasterlink times price per ml = ink cost for the job

    Example £80 per 440cart 80/440=0.18p
    Ink used on the job for example 23ml x 0.18 = 4.14
You could print 1x1m image and use above to figure out how much it cosy you to print 1m2
