VS640 Not Printing – Cap Head ?
I initially thought I just had a problem with White not printing since changing to ECOSOL2 but think I have a wider problem, so just sharing symptoms & what I’ve done to see if others agree / have any other ideas before I start spending money on engineers !

The nature of our business has changed over the last year and as a result since last December we’ve not printed any white with the machine, until about April / May when I went to print white nothing was firing. At the time I thought without the White going through it will save us some money as most of it ends up in the drain bottle. However we’ve now got the potential to have some regular white printing on static cling so thought I best see if I could get it going.
Having noticed a few air bubbles in the pipes just before the Y near the dampers and after looking at a few forums I tried the CHOKE CL in the service menu, now I wish I hadn’t as it’s not printing at all !!
I’ve been though various cleans, INK RENEWAL and even INK FILL and I’ve noticed some air now appear in the Magenta Lines just above the dampers and also nothing appearing in the drain bottle. The white ink is circulating when I run a circulation.
So all this combined I’m thinking it’s likely to be the cap top and the head isn’t getting any/enough suction and even maybe not sealing allowing the air in ? The printer is just over 4 years old and the Cap Top has never been replaced …. I do go through the manual cleaning operations regularly.
Any thoughts or similar experiences from anyone else ?
