  • Converting a font to a stencil font

Posted by Warren Beard on 15 April 2016 at 13:53

    Hi All

I need to cut some stencils but there are 1000’s of letters needing doing (sentences) and client is insisting on a specific font.

If we do it manually it’s going to take ages to do, does anybody know if there is an automated way to turn any font in to a stencil font?

    Cheers

    Warren

Which font is it? Some fonts have 3rd party copies which have been turned into stencil fonts.
May be worth searching for name of font with stencil on the end. Other than that, I don’t know
of any short cuts, other than editing the font in Fontographer or similar, and saving as a new one.

    Thanks Jamie

Font is "Jane Austen" and had a look and nothing for stencil. Maybe your idea is good to do each letter and create it as a new font ……. have no idea how to do that. Do you know who can do things like this so I can get a price?

    cheers mate

You can get font editors that would help you do that sort of thing – some of them free.

I’m pretty sure you can create a font set using Corel Draw – I made a set once just for my own amusement. Can’t remember how you do it though but google should come up with the answers.
