    Hi all

Problems yet again (big sigh 🙄 ) with the Mimaki CGfxii.
It was cutting beautifully, and now it isn’t.
For some reason it is stopping cutting before the corner on every straight cut. Rounds are fine, and cut completely . Also the starting edge (corner) is lifted, again only on straight cuts. I am pulling my hair out, having spent about three hours with the manual in my hand, chasing between the PC and the cutter settings.
I don’t have anyone locally who I can bounce off, so I am hoping that one of you good people can set me on the right road!

    Thanks in advance
    Lorraine

    blade offset and overcut settings?

Blade offest is normally 0.25mm and your overcut 0.50mm ( although experiment for your best setting)

    hope that helps.

Hi John, thanks for your reply. I have worked my way through the settings for both. The overcut worked in part, but I still have a large uncut area on each side (i.e. the ‘square cut’ test cuts 2/3reds but not the final 1/3). Weird.

Are you sure the blade hasn’t chipped or blunted? If it was cutting oK before but now it isn’t, and you hadn’t changed any settings – then it must be the blade?

Hi Phil, I’ve tried one of the Edward Mathias blades too, still the same result.

Are you using a different vinyl to normal (i.e thicker or laminated)?

Hi Lorraine. How does the cutting strip look? If you send the job right justified, does it improve?
