    Morning everyone,

Looking for some advise as I’ve landed a relatively large sign to put up at a local fishing shop unit.
The size they are hoping to fit is 3000mm x 1800mm, and will be a simple flat backing attached to the metal cladding.

I’ve not done any backings before, just work vans and windows – so am a little unsure of what material would be best and the places to get it from… a simple point (or shove) in the right direction would be appreciated 😉

The sign itself will be KPMF 70000 vinyl cut and applied to this backing.

Thanks for any help in Advance

You will get aluminium composite from suppliers like Europoint, Amari etc
they will also cut sheets to size if required.

Tech screws you can buy via screw-fix and the like. you want open thread techs for cladding.
remember and buy a tech bit for your cordless gun to drive in the screws.

Thanks again for all your help Robert :thumbup2:

Found an other company who specialise in plastic – but also supply aluminium composite in certain sheet sizes.
Will be speaking to my customer to see if its suitable enough.

a tip, do not buy hoarding board for this type of thing. its a composite but a budget board and a short term fix.

Top tip, I’ve swung in the direction for aluminium composite from "the plastic people"
Who say it is Lightweight & durable… 🙄 and my customer has agreed to the slight reduction in size to accommodate the sheet size they sell.
I’ve also had the nod on the design too so should be my first type of sign like this.

Thanks for all your help Robert. 😀

you can get 3000mm x 2000mm from some companies which will allow you to get the size panel you want

    Cheers Kev

thank you for the tip mate, I’ve had the go ahead on the slightly smaller design this time… but good to know I can get the 3000mm width elsewhere if needed in future.
