  • Grenadier sp 1400c wont talk to my laptop! Help please?

Recently bought a Grenadier sp 1400 machine

I have been having extreme difficulties getting it to communicate with my laptop, i have read through all of the previous threads on this matter and nothing has worked, i saw the machine fully connected and working order before i transported it home so i know it isnt faulty!
    However
I have checked and noted the IP of the laptop(internet while plugged into the hub) aswell as the gateway etc, i have then plugged in the Grenadier, open intercon and it has picked up that the printer is there and connected, however now when i change the ip to match the laptop network and click finish it just comes up saying it cannot find/talk to the printer or laptop :banghead: i literally have no idea and would really love it if you could help a girl out!
    Thanks!

Without wanting to offer a training course on TCP/IP and networking fundamentals, essentially you need to have the following:

Set printer and PC both static (specify an address rather than obtain automatically)
Both devices need to have IP Addresses where the first 3 numbers are the same (i.e 192.168.1.xxx)
Make sure the subnet mask is EXACTLY the same on both devices (i.e 255.255.255.0)

See how you get on from there and then post back.

Still no luck! I keep getting a print server error!
    Any ideas?

It’s very difficult to suggest much else without seeing it to be honest. It might be worth finding local printer engineer or IT company with network experience and getting them to have a look.

One last thing you could try…

If you have an option to use a ‘port number’ from your RIP, try either 9100 or 3001. If not, I think you’ll be better off getting an engineer in.

You could try obtaining another print server (SEH or XCD) and see if you can communicate with that?
