  • Help please sourcing a trade supplier of big light letters

Posted by John McNickle on 11 November 2015 at 09:06

Does anyone know of a trade supplier for good exterior light letters like used at weddings, i have a guy that loves the old American style of them but wants them for his external sign, im guessing the wedding ones aren’t built to last that long outside in british winters etc.. he wants them 2 ft high and i dont know the actual name for them to find a supplier

thanks for any help on this
    John

If they are built correctly, they should last outside no problems. If you want them like above, just remember to mention that you want Cabochon bulbs

They do just look like built up letters, with the face set back. Applelec would be my first port of call.

I’ll not be recommending TradeSigns after this experience

Not good David, not good at all… yeah i know they are basically a built up letter with the inner set back i just didnt know if there was a reference name for them to search and get better results

There is no real term for them, although some call them Circus letters, or fairground style letters. It seems to be the fad at the moment. Mention those names to a supplier, they should understand what you mean.
