On a long, and extremely hot, day in June (2015) Centurion Signs completed the sign installation of the rooftop signs at the City of Glasgow College Riverside Campus.
These 16m long signs were hoisted over 45m above ground level in several sections. Centurion Signs’ team of highly qualified, and experienced, installers were then positioned on the roof of the new college building to attach these sections to the galvanized steel framework previously installed.

The position of the signs on this building, as well as their size, made this one of the most challenging sign installations Centurion Signs have carried out in recent times. However, Centurion Signs are delighted that it was successfully and safely completed, and can now be seen from miles around the City of Glasgow.

This sign installation was photographed from start to finish in order to tell the story of the day, and can be seen in the gallery above.

The sheer scale of these signs, along with the location and environment they must survive presented many design and manufacturing challenges that Centurion Signs, as a team, enjoyed tackling. However, the process of installing them and their galvanised steel framework brought a fresh set of challenges.

The 16m by 1.5m roof signs, that weigh 1.4 tonnes each, can now be seen from miles around Glasgow and are quite an amazing sight when illuminated at night.
