  • Can someone help with designs supplied to me?

Posted by Ewan Chrystal on 7 September 2015 at 09:26

I’ve had these two designs sent to me by a web designer, When i open in adobe reader they are fine but i need to resize them.
This is the bit i’m going to sound thick with.
When i open with AI or Flexi they are opening as separate layers (i think) and i don’t know how to chop off all the ‘waste’ to allow me edit it the way i want. Ive attached the 2 files. Its probably really easy if you know what your doing. Hoping someone can help as i need to get these away to print today.
    Thanks

What size and format do you require them in?

Have opened it and opens as a single layer for me. I have saved it as an ai file for you, see if that opens ok for you..

That is because the various components of the image are clipped.
If you create a clear rectangle on the top/front or new layer to the size of the actual image area, over the whole image, then select everything and right click & ‘make clipping mask’ it will leave you with a clipped single image that you can rescale as needed.
If that makes any sense… 😀

In Flexi create correct size rectangle to front select all and Mask anything outside of the rectangle will be hidden

Most files from designers are like that. Can be a nightmare getting a full wrap artwork into something printable.
