  • How many tubes to put in a light box – help please?

    hi
I know this has been answered before but I have been looking for the post for ages.
I can only find this post http://www.uksignboards.com/post189469.html#p189469
where ian says "general rule of thumb.
space between tubes should be the same as the depth of light box,
i.2 125mm deep lightbox have 125mm spacing between tubes."

I have a light box that is 850mm high and the depth is 130mm so using that rule of thumb I would need 6 or 7 rows which seems an awful lot.

I was planning on 4 rows initially before I read that.

    thanks phil

    Hi Phil.

You should only need four maybe five rows.
i was advised a long time ago and has worked well for me, to space tubes 6" – 8" apart and keep the rows that are closet to the edge of the box about 3" – 4" from there. This was based on a slightly deeper profile but if you keep to around the 6" mark you should be ok.
