  • Cropmark Error – Not Found. Help please?

Posted by NeilFox on 22 April 2015 at 21:27

Hi guys, I have a problem, just printed and urgent job, not much heavy coverage but needed to be contour cut. It has the normal crop marks.

It find the first 3 crop marks then moves across the back to find the 4th. It gets over the 4th and stops with the cropmark error. It has found the thing, it is over it,for heavens sake.

    Anyone with any ideas?

    Hi Neil,

    What printer are you running?

First thing to check is the optical sensor, check it is clean – often overlooked but very important.

    Gil,

Thanks. Sorry I should have said I am running a Roland VS540.

I have been running and cutting perfectly all day. As usual, it is the last minute rush job. I have used a blower brush to clean the sensor.

It just seems to be this print. I can cut other jobs, it is just this one.

I am no engineer so will leave it out there for someone else.

Only other thing I can think of is we once had an issue with light reflecting off gloss laminate when using printer at night / in winter – we sorted it by applying a matt black overlay over the registration mark! – Weird, but it worked!

    Gil and Shawn,

Thanks for the feedback. Shawn no dice with that, just tried it and in still goes across the dot side to side but before in then goes forward and backwards across it, it come us Cropmark Error.

I am going to put the design into VersaWorks again and see if I can get it to work there.

    Sorted.

I reprinted it and it worked fine this time. No matter what I did with the first print, it would not work.

Thanks for the comments and looking.
