  • Easymount 1600SH vs Mounters Mate 1600hs – opinions please?

    Posted by Nick.Eccles on 27 January 2015 at 18:17

We are looking to buy a Laminator to accompany our Roland VS640….

I was originally looking at an Easymount 1600SH but after a couple of marketing emails and reading on their website also looking at the Mounters Mate 1600hs they seem a very similar spec…. (I had my eye on an ex-Demo Easymount which is now sold 🙁 )

Does anyone have experience of these (or even both) models or any other recommendations?

Primary Use 70-80% Laminating of Digital Prints, 20-30% flood coating of boards

    cheers

    Nick

    Hi Nick

I have both and it’s perfect but I know that’s not always possible for financial reasons. If I was forced to chose between them I would choose the laminator. You can run boards through the laminator but you can’t laminate rolls of media off the mounting table.

I’m so glad I don’t have to choose though as really wouldn’t want to live without either.

Get yourself a laminator and save hard for the table 😉

    Good luck

    Hi thanks Warren.

I probably wasn’t clear but I was referring to the Mounters Mate Roll to Roll Laminator http://www.mountersmate.co.uk/1600hs-roll-to-roll-laminator-24-c.asp

I would like the table too, but one step at a time!

    Cheers,

    Nick

Thought I would update you on this….

We bought a Mounters Mate 1600hs in the end and I have to say I am really please with the purchase.

We’ve now run about 250M through the machine including two 40+M single runs, It is easy to set up and control and the aftersales support from Omar has been outstanding. Despite the training on installation I had a couple of problems which I thought was probably down to my set-up, spoke to Omar on the phone who talked it through and gave me a couple of pointers to look at and all was sorted.

    I would recommend.

    Nick.

    Nick

    How’s the Mounters Mate ?

I’m at the stage where I’m looking at changing my laminator (Drytac JM 54 I bought second hand a few years ago) for either a new Drytac, Easymount 1400 or the Mounters Mate.

    Cheers

    Bob

I’d have to echo everything Nick has said, were about 3 month in with ours now and it’s been faultless. As with everything you wanna buy an after service, I don’t think I’ve had to call Omar with a problem but we’ve spoke a few times and little things that niggle me I’ve asked him and he’s been spot on with them.

Can’t receend the company or machine enough.
