  • HP Latex Cockling banner material – help needed please?

I am using an HP LX850 to print double sided banners on blockout material, the banner material is warping/cockling where the heater/curing modules join on the printer does anyone have any advice on how to combat this. The client has complained about this and its clearly visible when the banners are hung. We have tried lowering the heating and curing temps, but this has made only slight difference to the point that the ink isnt drying.

i would guess it is down to the media used mate.
i dont mean its the wrong media or bad media, just that it is a media that doesn’t like allot of heat.
this type of warping with banner is often seen with the more budget type materials.
by that i don’t mean your buying cheap, just that again, the media you are using doesn’t agree with the heat used in drying it. this has often been a complaint with those running HP latex machines. so much so the newer latex models use much less heat and different ink technology, also meaning a much wider range of media agrees with printer.

probably not the answer you would like to have heard but boils down to that. i have both the older and new version Latex machines.

Is there a material you could recommend, we have tried Pyramids Simply blockout and Soyangs Blow 700.
