  • Help drawing template to align locators on flat cut letters?

    Hello eveyone

We have recently been asked to install some flat cut letters on to a wall with locators on the back. In an effort to learn new things we are going to fabricate everything in house.

My question is how do you align the locators that are on the back of the flat cut letters to the template which needs to be drawn up for application?

I have tried a few ways but would like to know how the template is drawn up professionally

All help would be greatly appreciated

    Cheers

your vinyl plotter/cutter will draw the outline of the letters for you, swop the knife for the pen (should have come with the machine), plot like normal and it will draw the letters. Use this to position your flat cut letters on, press down to leave a mark on the paper and those marks are your screw positions. Usually use a pen to highlight the pin point marks the locators will leave so easier to see when drilling or screwing in to the wall etc.

    Good luck.
